Throughout the years, many notables have made their way to the Country Squire. Such celebrities as Carl Sandburg, Marlon Brando, Esther Williams, Peggy Lee, Jerry Lewis, Barbara Eden, and Wolfman Jack have graced our dining room, along with political leaders Bob Dole, Senator Adeline Geo-Karis, State Representative Bob Churchill, former Illinois Governors Edgar, Kerner, Ogilvie, Ryan, Stevenson, Stratton and Thompson, Chicago Bears former head coach Mike Ditka, Chicago Cubs superstar and broadcaster Ron Santo and the late Cardinal Bernardin.Honored dignitaries, visiting major industries in the area had been known to land via helicopter on the grounds of the Country Squire. Frank Lloyd Wright once remarked while dining here, "For a place I didn't design, it's a nice joint you have here." ABC 7's restaurant critic, James Ward, named the Country Squire one of his top ten restaurants for 2002.The recent extensive elegant remodeling of both the mansion and the banquet facility have made our restaurant and banquet rooms more stylish and charming than ever.
